I believe Christianity is calling all of us to bring love into our mind, body, and soul. It's much like the premise in all martial arts practices to merge the mind, body, and soul as one. But unlike martial arts mastery, as Christians we seek to master love. Our goal is to become love.
Here's a video that introduces the idea of living with a pure state of mind in order to let God's love pour into us:
And here are some scriptures that support the idea of purity of mind and how God can use that state of mind to bring love to the world around us:
(1) MIND: Romans 12:2 New International Version (NIV)
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Everything we are begins in the mind.
And this is what the whole mind filter is about.
We cling to ideas, beliefs, and self-lies that keep us from fully receiving God’s love in our mind and heart.
(2) BODY: Mark 10:15 New International Version (NIV)
15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
This scripture speaks to the vulnerability and purity of a child.
It reminds me that all adults were once vulnerable children who needed the protection of their parents or caretakers to make it through life.
Children up to a certain age are inherently innocent. They’re not tainted by worldviews—parental, societal, personal experience, and other relationships.
(3) SOUL: John 14:12 New International Version (NIV)
12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
This is what the purity of mind idea is all about.
God needs our minds and hearts to be pure to do the work He’s called us to do.
Our human purpose is to bring God’s love to the world around us.
If we maintain a pure state of mind it’s possible to be more connected to God.
The more connected we are to God the more we conform to His Will.
And maybe through our obedience to remain pure God’s Love flows more strongly through us which results in us doing greater things than Jesus has done.
