What are you looking for?

What we look for depends on what we think. What we think depends on what we perceive. What we perceive determines what we believe. What we believe determines what we take to be true. What we take to be true is our reality."

Below, is a model I created to capture what I think Bohm is expressing to us:

 



 

This line of thinking reminded me of a Bible scripture:


Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)



 

And then, I started thinking that maybe what we’re looking for and what we’re thinking is the key to how we perceive reality. I labeled that connection “the hinge”—see visual below.




I think it’s worth answering the questions presented earlier:

  • What are we looking for?

  • What are we thinking?


The answers to these questions may help us discover how our perception is shaping our reality.
